First of all, I should clarify that the Chinese do not appear to distinguish clearly between frogs and toads. Frogs and Toads are called "Heavenly Chickens" because their spawn are thought to descend from the heavens with the dew.
In many ancient Chinese tales and legends, the toad is a trickster and a magician, a master of escapes and spells. But he is also the keeper of the real, powerful secrets of the world, such as the secret of immortality. This is linked to the hallucinogenic compounds derived from frogs and toads in ancient societies.
Does your jade frog have 4 or 3 feet? If it has 3, it is representative of the design known as "Liu Hai sporting with the Toad". It is regarded as most auspicious and conducive to good fortune & prosperity. In fact, the mythological three-legged toad is regarded (apologetically!) as the most famous symbol of money-making.
If your jade frog is a normal earthly frog/toad with 4 feet, it is a symbol of longevity (although not used as commonly as say, tortoises and cranes).
The ancient Chinese also view the frog/toad as a predominantly female force, a negative "yin" in opposition to the positive male "yang." If you are lacking in "yin" energy, this would be a good symbol to wear to help balance out your "qi".

the Chinese Black Jade Frog is usually 2 3/4" L x 1 3/4" W x 1 1/2" H i has a Smooth Black carving. The frog is a popular Feng Shui "wealth cure" said to increase prosperity and protect goods. This keepsake has double the luck because "Jade blesses that which it touches". Each piece is unique, with slight variations!! it is said "Jade Blesses that Which it Touches" "Jade is known as a DREAM STONE and a STONE OF FIDELITY, bringing realization to ones potential and devotion to ones purpose" That is the ancient Chinese belief. the Chinese were so fervent about Jade, which they considered a sacred mineral, that they fashioned ritual implements and articles from it to enhance their worship and their fortune. It is also revered by the ancient tribes of New Zealand as well as the Mayan Culture which viewed it as the "Sovereign of Harmony". It was used as a sacred stone, affording one access to the spiritual world. It helps to attune one to the needs of others and inspires wisdom during the assessment of problems. usually given to an Aries or Gemini u dont usually wear them u use them as orniments for good luck

Some guy wanted to carve a piece of rock in the shape of a frog. Maybe the rock looked like a rough frog to begin with. Why does it have to mean something other than an object created by the artistic abilities of some man or woman?
