I want to download a game i played on my old computer, but I don't know how to distinguish if it's safe or not, so that's why i need your help. I just got a new Windows Vista computer and i'm treating it like a very fragile newborn....

Anyways, the game is Maplestory and it's website is http://maplestory.nexon.net/

So, could someone investigate and tell me if it's an ok thing to download w/out getting viruses?

I promise I'm not trying to give you a virus myself, the website above is completely safe....plus, i'm not a mean and ruthless person.

To check the validity of a site, install McAfee Site Advisor as this is what they do. It is an add-on for Internet Explorer or FireFox and it's free. It shows up in you Google Search Results and the site itself.

I went to http://maplestory.nexon.net/ and I did not get any warnings. McAfee SiteAdvisor does not have any problems with the site. However I did not test any downloads.

If you have any reservations that is a good indicator that you don't want to chance it. If you thought it were totally safe you wouldn't have to ask the question.

big sites like this could have virus, spy ware, and even ad-ware. Your OS is fine but you do need an up to date virus program.
