I have just finished putting the 3 balls in the mechanism that opens up the secret place to get the artifact. I have to go back the way I came? If so How? or is their another way? help?

ok... see where you are standing? when you start moving again after the "It's a tomb! I'll make them feel at hom!" line? Well turn to your right... there is a ledge... climb up... and then jump to the left where the other huge statue is... then run across it and there will be another lege there... jump to it.... then jump up to another ledge.... shuffle across to a platform, and follow the rope, to get to another platform across that HUGE gap... then just jump to the other side, where you were earlier in the game....
