I think truly committed couples do give lots of things every day, but sometimes they lose sight of that fact. When the husband watches the kids so the wife can go get her hair done, he makes the dinner so she can put her feet up for an hour or so, she listens to how bad his day was without trying to one-up him, those are all examples of the love we give each other that sometimes is forgotten. Valentine's Day does not mean you have to give big, expensive presents to show your love. Write a poem or letter to your significant other expressing your love and what they mean to you. Take them out for a picnic in the park if the weather allows. Let him get his action movie or her get her love story movie this time, and sit back with a glass of wine together without complaining or making wisecracks. Showing your love in an extra special way one day a year doesn't have to break the bank.

You're deffinitely right.
I do think there should be a holiday for love, but people still should love each other all the time.

No, we should love each other EVERYDAY. But we are a capitalist, mercenary country (USA).

Obviously, the loving each other one day of the year thing doesn't work. Look at divorce rates.
