Do you think that this is good evidence that raising the minimum wage will help the economy? Do you think it is good evidence that raising the minimum wage will not hurt the economy?

I don't think you can put all the credit for Washington's economy on the minimum wage.
Washington also has no state income tax and its literacy rate is the highest in the country.

Also, Washington is home to many great companies. Microsoft, Starbucks, Costco, Boeing.

Government's job is to protect our rights. Government's job is not to control the economy. In a free market the economy runs itself. The minimum wage is zero. There are people who will work for free. They're called VOLUNTEERS. Where do you think this money comes from when the minimum wage is raised? It comes from you. You get nickeled and dime every time you buy something. The War on Povery that was started in the 60's is the main reason in the elimination of the middle class. The middle class gets hit the hardest and the gap between rich and poor widens. Look at the reason the Ford Motor company has gone bankrupt. They were paying low skilled workers a high rate of pay to make inferior automobiles. How is that good business practice? To keep people on their payroll they would keep people locked up in rooms for 8 hours at a time doing nothing. The value of something is not what it is worth it is what someone is willing to pay for it. A wage is not what it is worth it is what that person is willing to work for.

Why end at $7.25?? Why not improve it to $10? it should be a lot a lot less complicated to calculate your pay each and each week !! the idea our gadget is depending upon dictates that the quantity of pay earned for doing inspite of a particular pastime, is calculated by technique of the quantity of ability/expertise/practise the pastime calls for & what the going cost is in a given geographic section depending upon availability of not uncomplicated artwork & their willingness to do the pastime in question. defined extra in basic terms, in case you do not sense that's worth it to do a job for the pay being presented.....do not take the pastime!! Why not have the authorities stipulate how a lot issues ought to value? possibly they could scale back the ridiculous practise charged by technique of countless the faculties & universities in this u . s . (which have more effective dramatically for no obtrusive reason the perfect few years), & persons does not ought to artwork a lot to have the funds for college. Then they could come to a call how a lot the optimal pay should be for each pastime, & human beings may not spend years practise to be docs, scientists, etc, because it does not be quite well worth the time & attempt. That gadget has been tried that's observed as communism, or socialsim reckoning on precisely how the authorities interferes... Our capitalist gadget WORKS.....& it quite works tremendous. If i do not prefer to do a job for the pay presented i come upon a diverse pastime. If a hamburger expenditures too a lot at a particular eating position, i am going to devour someplace else!!! that's not quite an situation of Democrats or Republicans (by technique of how i'm a lifelong Dem!) Our gadget operates staggering with the least interference. it quite is why it;s observed as the loose marketplace. i'm chuffed you're earning extra nonetheless.....cuz now you'd be paying extra taxes as well, & possibly mine will end going up so quickly!! Think what you want. There is no better way to put small businesses out of business than minimum wage increases.
