Thank you! I thought it was ghost writting but when I said it out loud I thought it sounded strange.

Ghost writing. This term applies to fiction, non fiction, magazine articles, newspaper stories, plays, even music. Amazingly there are even bloggers now that have someone ghost writing the content that appears under their name!

I've had trouble tracking the origins of the word (having looked into this awhile back). The earliest use I could find of the term was in the late 1600s in Scotland. I have an odd feeling this might tie back to the great bard himself.
