I have a pile of watches that have dead batteries (I guess I'd rather have a pile of dead watches than get any batteries changed). With my newest one I have been pulling the little knob out (turning it off) and then just resetting it and turning it on every time i want to wear it. Will this save the battery or is it just the same or worse?

Pulling the pin does not turn it off...it just disengages the hands on the watch from the electric motor...which still runs. Save the trouble. I got my watch battery changed at a jewelry store for $8...what's your malfunction here?

Having to re-set it every time will likely wear the battery out faster than just leaving it on. It will definitely wear out the watch faster.

Why would you do that. A watch battery should do you for at least 3 years. Thats not expensive. Just wear it, and leave it alone. Seems to be a dumb question. Never heard of someone doing that before.
