Is it illegal in the U.S to use adobe photoshop to cut a politician's head and putting it on a body that is hanged. So it would seem like that politician is actually hanged. And then posting it on the internet??

O no im not going to do it. Its just that im arguing with a friend of mines and im telling him it is illegal. but as I see the answers, it isnt. Also its not like its going to be posted on the newspaper or anything like that

It's a political statement and, in theory, protected by the first amendment. But Secret Service officials and others might take it as a threat, so it may not be the wisest statement to make.

I am not sure that is a good idea, but I think it is legal. Though you might have to look out for black helicopters for a while. If it is meant as an effigy and not a threat I think it would be ok. Also, make sure people are aware that it isn't real. You just don't know with some people.

People have been doing this for centuries. It's called Freedom of Speech, at least in America. We've all seen the pics of Hilary's head on the porn star's body, etc

As long as you state that it is a parody your OK.....Basically you have to have a disclaimer.
