Nah man your gonna have the same life as everyone else. I majored in industrial engineering at the university of arkansas, and we have one of the top 20 departments in the country. I played baseball, majored in IE, got 2 minors, finished my pre med requirements, and am now in medical school at UAMS. I am in med school with a guy that long snapped for the razorbacks for 4 years who was an IE too. We had normal lives in college. I had enough time to get arrested, make multiple trips to Dallas to see my girl, and take 2 months during the summer to do a volunteer project in new zealand. You will have as much of a life as you want. Since you are considering engr, you are pretty smart. I assume you are good at math, etc., so the hardest classes you will be taking will be the ones you have the most confidence in. The hardest thing you will be confronted with will be projects because they will take up a lot of your extra time, so dont let yourself procrastinate on them too much. You will be given priority in choosing classes so they fit into your schedule. You wont be drinking and partying too much during the week, but if you give yourself 2 hours every day to study and attend every class, you should end up with a 3.0-3.5 pretty easily. It takes a really lazy or dumb person to make less than 3.0 in college, even playing sports. kick some buckeye ***.

I supply you mad props for being an engineer and a soccer participant. i'm a freshman in engineering top now. that's a TON of artwork, and in specific circumstances it incredibly is overwhelming. The social existence here is great. there is often something to do. the guy/woman ratio is approximately 50/50 i think of. good looking women human beings in engineering are annoying to discover. many of the chicks are wealthy and caught-up. I appreciate the status of attending UofM, yet I do get jealous of my pals who bypass someplace else and don't have almost as lots artwork as I could do, even yet it incredibly is going to repay in the long-term. good success next year and bypass Blue!

man have you got your work cut out for yourself. when you are not doing football, plan on 10 hours a day of school work, and with road trips from august till january, don't plan on any social life. i was not sure that um accepted football players with such academic interests. plan on going for a year or two more after your football career ends.

You are going to have to work really hard. You won't have time for a social life and women. :)
Good luck.

It all depends how smart, sociable, and focused you are.
Hopefully your early college hard-partying days are over, and you can stay focused on what is really important-----your education!
