Kool and the Gang, The Gap Band, and The Police. These are my top 3 all time......all time .....Music Bands. I like Kool and the Gang because of their 80's style of music "Fresh" was my favorite Kool and the Gang song. I still play it in my car. The Gap Band "Outstanding" and "You dropped the bomb on me baby!" LOL I like the Police "Don't stand so close to me", "Everything she does is magic", and so many other songs of theirs as well. These are my favorites. I believe all of them are in the music hall of fame too. I know for a fact that the Police and Kool and the Gang are, I don't quite know about the Gap Band though. Anyway, those are my top 3 all time rock/pop bands.

Good bands, my top three are:
1. Blondie, without a doubt the best band in my opinion
2. ABBA, they have so many great pop songs
3. The Go-Go's, I love their girly, yet punk rock sound

Iron Maiden - Been around since the late 70's and still making music and touring (selling out arena's still)
Prince - There is no kind of music this man cannot make. From R&B to Metal to Hip Hop, he has done it all. honorable mention to Wyclef here.
Bon Jovi - I know, I know. But they are a great Rock & Roll band and some of the best songwriters ever. And one of the best selling bands in history with over one-hundred-million albums sold.
Johnny Cash - His music crosses cultures. He was and is the only country musician to be on Def Jam/American records with the likes of Slayer, Danzig, LL Cool J, Sir-Mix-Alot, Ghetto Boys and many of the artists with the label performed in one way or another with him.

I think you and I are from the same era. Did you used to watch MTV when it was only videos? I love The Gap band! Wasn't "you drop the Bomb" on the ten inch album? The Police were great, Zenata Mendata I think was the name of one of my favorite albums. I love the Police song "Walking on the moon". I want my "old MTV" back!
