Weakness in weightlifing, please help?
I havent been weight training religiously for about 5 months now. I started to lift again today, and noticed that i have gotten much weaker. I am 15 years old, and was benching 185 reps of 5 when i was lifting, and today was having trouble with 165 repping of 5.Is this normal? will i get back up to normal strength?

You'll get there quicker than you think. Just don't overexert yourself trying to get it back too fast. I'd say you should be back to your old bench strength in several weeks.

Yes, it will come back. After an extended layoff, your strength will diminish, the muscle is still there, but you should be able to gain your strength back faster than it took before you could lift that much weight. Just keep working, and you will be back to 185 in no time...

Muscles atrophy over time if they aren't used. So yes, it is normal to lose some strength if you stop a lifting routine for almost half a year.

You will regain the strength over time.

One Caveat:
All this implies that you don't have any medical condition that is getting progressively worse over time. So if you don't have any neruo or muscular disease than don't worry about the loss of strength.

Yes, its very normal. You have to watch at your age though you should not be maxed out on your lifting. Someone at your age will severly there muscle fibers and cause prtoblems for when you get older. You need to lower your weight to about 75% of what you max and do your max once a week.
