To my knowlege the victory holds no title of any sort. from the looks of the 2007 models Polaris is very confused about what to copy next. it looks more like a honda silver wing than anything on the market. but they forgot to put the VW taillight on it.

So that the name started with V, of course. There is now an unwritten law that all motorcycle companies who make cruisers must have one with a V in its name at some point in their history: Kawasaki has the Vulcan, Honda used to sell the Valkyrie, Yamaha has the Virago, Suzuki had the Volusia, and Harley has the V-Rod. You've got to have a V in one of your cruiser's names somewhere.

Is there a question somewhere or did you just want to bash Victory Motorcycles?
I've read the history of Victory Motorcycles and they chose the name because it was positive and was synonymous with winning, similar to the Triumph name. It also has a nostalgic ring to it.
As for the styling, the Arlen Ness line (ie: Eight Ball) has been widely acclaimed by numerous publications as one of the finest looking cruisers currently available.
Their new bagger is definitely strange looking, but then so are bikes from others like the Honda Rune, Suzuki Madura, the BMW GS and the Triumph Rocket III and many of those have sold well and appeal to a lot of folks.
I don't own a Victory, but I have test-ridden them and they are good, solid, dependable performers. To each his/her own...

Polaris was the only company with enough lawyers and money on hand to achieve it (victory) in a market where harley ran everybody else out ie indian,excelsior henderson and they do build a very good bike don't know about the look but they always start and go .

so what's the problem? u can only do so much with something that only has 2 wheels. take a look at the sport bikes for example; they all look the same except for the size of the engine and who makes it. other than that, the overall style varies very very little. then u have the cruisers that dont differ that much except when it comes to price, and in the price dept, harley reigns supreme with havin the most expensive bikes next to the gold wings and the duc's.

what's wrong with the name victory? sounds to me you're a HD guy who's a little jealous that someone has come along and finally shown the sheep that you don't have to pay 25k for a better bike. as far as looks go, at least they take chances and are not stuck on the same design for the last 40 years.
