I don't believe in them unless its medically necessary. But even then I think for me personally I would carry the child even if it meant my life, because in the end... we don't know if both or 1 would die. They deserve that chance as much as we do.

BTW, my mom disagrees with me.

It's tough. Many pregnancies create difficult situations. Almost (but not) all of them are self induced. Etoptic pregnancies and other situations which endanger the life of the mother and thus obviously teh child too, a saddening yes. Otherwise I wish we could shut that pandora's box

I worry about any society that condones the killing the smallest and most innocent ones who have no voice and no union to protect them. I wish more was done to prevent unwanted pregnancy.

I also fell sad for the girls who get them, I've known 2 who have been that route and the sadness has never left them (10+years). One has become a lesbian since then and says its much less complicated. The other is starting a family which has really given her guilt issues.

Let me help out with this essay a little bit, and don't think I am being critical.. I am trying to teach you. First of all, you HAVE to "believe" in abortions because they exist. So, in your essay, don't word it that way. What you probably want to know is if people think they should be legal or not, or whether they think women should have them or not.

As for me, I believe abortion should be legal. First of all, a woman should have the choice about how her body is used -- regardless of whether the sex was consensual or not. She is the vehicle and should be able to let her passenger go. Sorry, men out there, but if you want the choice, only have unprotected sex with a woman with whom you have already discussed the issue and agree. Otherwise, you don't get a say.

Second, they should remain legal because abortions will always be there. If they are done illegally, there could be serious complications if a woman is not close enough to an emergency room if something goes wrong.

Abortions happen all the time, but that doesn't make it right. If you are pregnant and don't want to keep your child, think of those who would love to have children and can't. Rather go through with the pregnancy and let this life inside of you enter the world and have a chance as well. Those who can't have children have the option of adoption, and so why not give the child for adoption then.
Abortion is MURDER! You're killing a living person. From the minute of conception, you have a living being inside of you.

You are right, there is nothing more cruel than killing an innocent human being who cannot defend himself or herself. Even in the case of rape, it’s never acceptable to kill the child. Would you kill a one-year-old because her father was a rapist? If not, why is the child in the womb fair game? Should children be punished with death for the crime of their fathers? Here are some stories about women who conceived children in rape, as well as other information on rape and abortion:

I believe in good spelling. Sorry, but I do not want to argue with somebody who cannot speak or write.
To answer your question: They happen and they are real, so of course I believe in them. Do I think they are good- of course not. Do I believe they must stay legal- absolutely, positively yes. Who am I to decide what's best for others.

Tricky question. Yes and NO.
Abortion is taking a living human life....a type of murder.
It would have to be by case by case situation to determine justification if it should be preformed.

Two just reasons would be if mother and child both was at risk of death. Or by rape.

There is too many options one may take AFTER the birth.

A unborn fetus is a living life!

for me its not a matter of whether i believe in them or not. i chose to have one when i was 18. i'm certainly not proud of doing so, but i did it and now i have to live with that for the rest of my life. all i can say is that it is probably one of the most emotionally crippling things i have ever done and that it is not a decision to be taken lightly.

I suggest you look abortions online. It is an awful thing to do. I also only believe that they should be done if the person was raped or it is an incest case.
