Yes, I have, then got a degree and a better job, but what is your point? There will ALWAYS be people who work for minimum wage. They do many of the hard yet insignificant jobs that the wealthy don't want to do and the people on welfare don't have to do. Who else is gonna serve your burger, wash your car, ring up your groceries or clean your schools?
EDIT: Hannibal, I'd love to tell you where you can shove your conservative garbage, but, instead I will just say I am liberal and work every bit as hard as anyone else and I don'y receive welfare, quit making uneducated ASSumptions.
EDIT: Koepnick...Why don't you go tell the people who serve you at restaurants, the janitors at our schools, that deliver your papers, and ring and bag your groceries that they are lazy Americans? Somehow I don't think they would agree.

I have. I worked when the minimum wage was .75 an hour! Of course, everything was cheaper so it equaled it's self out.
Even though I earned an associate degree in accounting, I could never make more than $8.50 an hour. This lack of earning power led to my Social Security being such that I could not live on it if I were not married! One of the many ways that women in our society have been cheated. For years I went to school to learn all that I could about computers; I could see that it was the coming thing, but though I knew more than the men I worked for, they earned more money, even when I had to show them how to do their jobs!

I never did, I've always earned above minimum wage, even in high school. But I do know plenty of people who did graduate and are now working for minimum wage. And for some, it is hard. Does that make them worse then us? I don't think so.

hmm...how many people who live on minimum wage would be posting on this question? they can barely afford food, let alone internet.
I worked for minimum wage ($4.25/hr at the time) for a short while outta high school....it sucked. Thankfully if you don't have a ciminal record and have a diploma/GED, it is easy to find something a little over minimum. Raising minimum wage would help...lots of people work for close to min wage without working the exact number.

I have worked for minimum wage. How did you get so lucky to find a decent paying job with only a high school education?

I have.
I do find it quite insulting that you are now calling your non minimum wage job a "real job" I know a lot of people that work way harder then most people and they work 2 minimum wage jobs just to get by.

I did. My first job in the USA was in a small retail store. I stayed a year, got used to the American system then moved on and began making decent salaries, then excellent salaries then we created a business and now I only work part time and because I want to.
