Dessicated coconut, Why,? because when I was about 5 years old, I got a doll for Christmas, and as you do/did woke up at about 3 in the morning, rustle through the pillowcase at the bottom of the bed. And the first thing that came out was the doll, she had blond curly hair, and the smell of coconut hair was really intense. And that is my first smell that reminds me of childhood.

Play Dough - Even now when my daughter plays with it I feel like Im 5 years old all over again!
Sunday Lunch - Having to wait hours and feeling like I was going to waste away cause Mum had mis-timed something and she always said 'It'll be ready in ten minutes', even though Itd be another hour!
No More Tears - The Johnsons Shampoo that was as yellow as washing up liquid and smelt really sikly sweet (and I still hated having my hair washed!)
My fave smell was clean bedding after Id been on holiday and still is now.....it was/ is lovely to get into your own bed!

The fresh smell of plastic super balls, fresh out of the vending machine at the grocery store (they cost a dime back in the 80s). Also, the smell of pine needles-summers in Tahoe; plastic table cloths also remind me of Tahoe. The smell of cinnamon toast reminds me of rainy days after school. Frnech fries cooking=dinners at home. The smell of cheap spray-bottle perfume reminds me of my first days in middle school and my first crush...ahhh

Hot tar on a summer's day - we used to walk barefoot from the beach, and pop all the tar bubbles with our fingers and toes. I could never understand what my mom used to get so het up about - tar on shorts and tshirts, arms and legs!
Now when I smell that smell, I'm really tempted to feel the tar squishing between my toes again!

cleansing soap that smells like peaches continuously jogs my memory of my grandma's residing house, because it really is the form of cleansing soap she used. also, this can be a touch gross, yet on each occasion I scent a ferret it jogs my memory of my early existence besides. My brother were given a puppy ferret at the same time as i grow to be about 6 years previous, and it died many years later.
