I love his music. He and Tom Petty are my ALL TIME favorites. (I am telling my age, now). I am a little disappointed with Bob right now, though. I have always said that if he ever started touring again, I would go see him. He came within 200 miles of my home last month, and I fully intended to go to see him in concert. When I saw the price of the tickets, I could not believe it. They ranged in price from $144.00 for the bad seats all the way up to over $800.00 to be on the floor in front of the stage. Now, I expected the tickets to be relatively expensive, but I thought $144.00 for seats almost behind the stage was ridiculous. I was very disappointed that Bob Seger would stick it to his loyal fans like that. I did not go to see him. I would have loved to. His voice always takes me back to my younger days. I can hear the first few notes of certain songs of his, and I am immediatedly taken back.

I first saw Bob Seger back in 1967 when he played at the Student Union at our local community college. He has "paid his dues' as much as anyone, playing small clubs & venues week in and week out for years before he hit it big in the mid 70's. He is considered by many to be one of the most talented & hard working guys in the business.

His working class background & rough bluesy voice make him what rock & roll used to be all about. No disrespect to Rock71991, but I don't think it is possible to "over play" Seger.

Well, I am far too humble to express a personal opinion about Robert Seger Esq, since I am Bristish. I must say though the the very mention of his name causes me to arch an eybrow till it hurts and point out that not only is he popular in Germany, but also in the Mid-west and Southern states of the US of A.

Put it this way, I feel British culture is just about strong enough to hold out against the Seger onslaught.

To be totally frank, the Fairy Penguin culture of Melbourne, Australia could hoist the barricades and succeed.

To sum up, Mr Seger is a bit rubbish. My bowels will now loudly express their support of Bob.

Does Bob Segar get on here then. What about his silver bullet band.
I quite like Hollywood nights and Thin Lizzy's Rosalie was a really good cover of one of his songs.
I'm sure he'll agree

I think he's great. Straightforward, rockin', blues-based rock 'n' roll - with a strong gruff voice.

Can't go wrong with that!
