It depends. Sometimes continuing the marriage just for the moment (or the year) is necessary due to financial reasons, issues with children, or other circumstances. The marriage may not survive long-term, but there ARE really bad times to just go file for divorce. Preparation is sometimes needed, and the decision should be made very carefully in some instances.

This all depends to what you mean by love has left the building. If you just do not love each other then seek counseling and help for you and the marriage before giving up on it but if a spouse has abandoned you then file for divorce.
