This is what I think those styles are:
Preppy: Polos and mini skirts. Also plaid or polka dots. Or American Eagle or Hollister things.
Classic: It depends on what you think of "classic" If you think a nice pair of jeans an a blazer is classic or Audrey Hepburn classic.
Rocker: Skinny jeans and band t-shirts, or red and black and gray or navy.
Hip Hop- Do you mean rapper-ish. I am not sure, and I don't want to say the wrong thing.
Trend Setter: Anyone who creates a style and other people love it and try to recreate it. (I sorta am one. I love suspenders and ties. And now some of my other friends do to.)
I hope this works. This is just what I think. Other people have their own a opinion. And this is mine. Thanks!

Preppy- think cheerleaders, rich kids /outfit- short skirt, clog flip flops, pretty shirt
Classic- think Audry Hepburn, little black dress
Rocker- Mosh pit, Amy Lee of Evanescence /outfit- black pants, red belt, red short sleeved shirt with a black mosh shirt on top
Hip hopper- Lots of jewelery not needed /outfit- short shorts, high heels, low cut top, lots of jewelery
Trend setter- someone who starts a wave of trends, Little black dress / outfit- come up with something you like maybe people will start wearing it

You forgot Fad vs. Fashion. Fads are the cute trends that will be out of style next season. Fashion never goes out of style.
Preppy, rocker, hip hopper: Fads. Look in any clothing catalog or fashion magazine that targets your age group.
Classic is fashion. True fashion is classic. (ex. the grand dames of the silver screen, haywood, dietrich, bancroft)
Trend setter isn't a style.

preppy: ripped jean, buttom up, or tight fitting clothes
Classic: In my point of view a classic is a throwback jersey and classic blue jean
Rocker: Biker chains on hip, leather jacket, ripped jean
Hip hopper: Baggy stuff jeans shirt etc.
Tren setter: Me. Bape hooodie, omavi jeans sumthing no one has worn
