i have windows vista home premium with i g of ram, and i want at least 1.5 g without buying more ram, how can i do it?

you can also use a usb stick as ram on windows vista, it will prompt you to do so when you put it in. its not as fast as regular ram im told

the RAM memory and the HDD memory are not the same kind of memory so you cannot do what you propose.......sorry.
Check your "task bar" see if you have programs in there that you don't need to run all the time. (lower right hand side at the bottom) The programs displayed there are actually running in the backround and require alot of your resources, if you have programs there that don't need to run until you call on them - turn them off or remove them from your start-up menu. This can save you a lot of memory and will help you gain some speed.

You system already does this by itself... After the RAM is filled, Windows will automatically use HD space if more memory is needed. (This is called your PageFile.) The more this file is used, the slower your computer will run, since HD access speeds are much slower than RAM memory speeds. I would not suggest trying to use the HD for RAM memory, if you think you need more RAM, the only solution that will not slow down your system, is to buy more.....

Hard Drives all have a small built in RAM, use for quick openings to programs already opened. However you cannot use or convert it into ram. If you can, sell the thing, it rules..

Start->(Right Click) My Computer->Advanced Tab->Performance->Settings->Advanced Tab->Virtual Memory->Change

Put in the settings that fit your needs here.
