Sure, you get the keep the wedding gifts from your family, he gets to keep the wedding gifts from his family.

You will also be entitled to your legal fees.

If you don't want to be married to him, why would you want his money.

You get your stuff, he gets his, and that's it.

Technically, you might be entitled to 1/2 of the "increase in equity" of the house between now and date of marriage assuming the husband has been paying for the house before the marraige. That is if you put your money in the common account to pay for the mortgage.

Technically, you are also responsible for 1/2 of the debt so incurred during that time.

If you consider attorney's fees, I doubt it is worth your while.

You stand a better chance of getting money if he ascends to heaven.

8 weeks!? Did you even get back from honeymoon before it went wrong?!

I'd say it depends on how much you both put into the house. If it was already his, then id say you should getn nothing apart from your own possessions back. If you were buying it before the wedding, then a percentage based on both your contributions.

See a solicitor.
If he has been unfaithful or is at fault - take him to the cleaners.
If you have had cold feet - try again to make it work.
If you genuinely feel it was a mistake - try to make an amicable settlement.

And if you are a scheming gold-digging *****, then I hope you contract something nasty and terminal.

It doesn't matter how long you have been married you are still entitled to whats yours i'm afraid to say!! I really do not understand how you can divorce in 8 weeks! Marraige is a big thing - how can you in 8 weeks decide you don't want to be with him anymore. Did you not think ablout that before the marraige?? Unless he cheated or did something bad than I guess it is understandable!!

Are you sure that after 8 weeks that you want to go your separate ways, there must of been something to make u get married.

Do you have Kids with him? If then he will need to pay maintenance for the kids if they live with you. If not then it is down to what you both choose.

Have you paid anything towards the house, i.e. house hold expenses? Cos if you havent then you may not get anything.

But you should get legal advice.

Depends on the reason for divorce & how much you have put in to the house yourself. If he has cheated on you/hit you/behaved unreasonably then you will be entitled to more. If you have behaved unreasonably then the court will work in his favour. Speak with a solicitor.

I think you need to be married for 3 months to get anything....check with a lawyer. You're probably not entitled to anything.

You shouldn't get anything. You actually have to make some effort in a marriage to be deemed to have contributed something !!! 8 weeks isn't even giving it a chance. Why did you bother ????

You won`t get half of anything unless you`ve put half into it. Talk about making a mockery out of marriage! I agree with hazzard. Half of what you`ve bought together sounds right. You can`t expect half of anything that was his before you met!
