My baby's heart rate was 162 at 12 weeks. At 17 weeks it went down to 150. Both times the OB said it was normal. The geneticist that did the in-depth ultrasound told me the reason it was probably higher at 12 weeks was because they baby must've been really active at that moment. They say it decreases a bit the bigger the baby gets.

It's normal and a good sign of a healthy baby. At 16 wks mine was 150. Now at 20 wks it spiked at 162. The doc. said it will increase the more he moves, and the further along you go the lower it could go because lack of space to move around. Also don't think because the heart rate is high that it's a girl. I thought that until 2 wks ago and found out we're having a little boy. Good luck.

For whatever reason, the smaller the creature, the higher the heart rate. That's why hummingbirds have heart rates of 1250 beats per minute.
As your baby grows, the heart beat will slow down.
Don't worry. If there was room for concern, the doctor would let you know.

I'm 24 weeks and my baby's heart rate is 148 per minute. BUt I do believe that it is normal. Don't worry if your doctor said it was ok then it is!

My 12 week appt. had the baby's heartrate at 170 and the doc said "sounds great." So if the doc isn't worried you shouldn't be either. Best of luck.

A baby's heart rate isn't something they take lightly, so if it were abnormal I'm sure your Dr would have told you. It's always good to check on your own though, so good for you for caring enough to do your own thinking and research - your child is already in good hands with a parent that cares so much. :)

My baby was like 180....but I also have a naturally high heart beat rate...not sure if that makes a difference. If you're doctor says you're ok then you probably are. Don't worry! :)

I’m 12 weeks right now and mine was 155. I’m sure your baby’s rate was fine. Your doctor would have said something if that wasn’t ok.
