What useful purpose does it serve besides printing money and running the military? Would you miss the departments of Agriculture, the FDA, the Education Department and so on if they were dissolved today?

No it has way overstepped the powers given to it in the Constitution.The departments you mention are just the tip of the iceberg.

Good question. Why should the federal gvmt be anything more than a defense department and a very small state department?

We already know that national socialism is a complete failure.

Why do we have the FAA? Private corporations could do as good as a job if not better. Remember the crash in Kentucky? The man in the tower only had 2 hrs sleep and was working on paperwork, not watching the planes.

Why do we need politicians to decide which medicines we should take? Isn't that between us and our doctor? Get rid of the FDA.

Do gvmt programs like qualification programs do more harm by causing urban sprawl? Did the CAFE standards give birth to the SUV market?

Why do we even have a federal department specifically to regulate speech? Sell the airwaves as property and get rid of the FCC.

Let the states decide social policy. This way you can move to a state that best reflects your values rather than using the federal gvmt to force your views on others.

You have to understand that without the federal government, Chaos ensues. Yeah, we have local and state governments, but we need the federal governments to keep them honest.

Great lets have 50 different countries that are not united. Thats what the Federal Government does. You also mentioned the military. That is reason enough to keep the government, I don't think the national guards and state militias are going to suffice against a foriegn invasion or national emergency.

Every government has corruption, but when I pick up the phone and dial 911, I hope someone is on the other side.

The FDA makes sure foods, chemicals and medicines are decently safe before you pump them into your body. They may not be right 100% of the time... but they are a human organization.
Governments are life. If you wish to rid yourself of those organizations, then let us dissolve the Police, and the Court systems, and the Fire Fighters as well. They are all government. Our money goes to them as well. The people who protect and serve you daily. Try to be a patriot every once in a while. Or move to Africa.

he federalism is the system is not a productive system any more, neither in Canada nor US. There is no doubt that in future the would be no feral government in North America, even each states be be come independent country like Europe Today...we were always behind the history and follower of other nations..so it will happen..

However, until that day we must all suffer the payments of high taxes, the threats and harassments of the federalisms' agents for maintaining this this very Harmful System.

It is a great fortune that the new idea and hopes are developing contrary to all kinds of censorship, tortures, and conspiracy by Canada and US brutal Force & Police System.

I agree we have too much government in our lives, however:

"We the People of the United States, in order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty, to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America." preamble of the United States Constitution

The goverment is designed to take care of this. I wouldn't trade the US Constitution and hence the governing bodies that keep it running for anything in the world, even when they make me so frustrated I could scream.

We are blessed to be here, lets honor it, protect it and be thankful for it.

Not entirely, no! I don't think all these political pigs need their own private government funded planes to fly them anywhere and everywhere. Let 'em fly commercial. If they had to live under the same laws as the rest of us, a helluva lotta things would change for the better!
