I think it's much more than that. What we feel or what we know, which is more dominant? Mind over matter means successfully getting over that worm of doubt, among other things. What is true reality? I wonder how many times the outcome is due to some self-fulfilling prophecy, a prediction made based on some perception that, in being made, actually causes itself to become real.

Where as a machine may have a clear limit, biological systems don't and lots of that is controlled by glands in the brain.

Its just like someone starting an exercise program they usually say start off slowly and build. Otherwise, you can "push" yourself too far and injure yourself.

Your mind has just told your body to do more than it should.

I don't think it always works. Sometimes it is hard to pretend I don't have a headache. I have tried but by the end of my work day I have to lay down in my darkened bedroom. Maybe I should just take a Tylenol or something.

I think that at this point it is; it's overused and when I think about trying to actually define it, it's not that powerful in my opinion. I'm not sure that it's right either. That's just me though.
