Between the SEC conference and the Big 12 conference, which has won more college football national championships?

That question is skewed. SEC and Big 12 are conferences that expanded so its not a good comparison. The better question is which conference has more winning programs, you would have to say the Big 12, because for many years (decades really) Alabama was the SEC.

Well do you mean the teams in the conference or titles won by Big 12 or SEC teams while in that conference.

The SEC has more BCS titles than any conference with (3).

I'm assuming in football and I'm also assuming you mean which one has the most total championships dating back to 1800's since Big 12 is only 12-13 years old.
Big 12=18 between CU, nebraska, OU, texas,& texas A&M
SEC=23 between Florida, georgia, UT, Alabama, Auburn, LSU, & Ole miss.
PS it also depends on which organizations you count that give credit for championships. Here Alabama is credited with 10, but I have seen anywhere from 7-15 credited to them.

the sec is though but teh big 12 with my longhorns are the best they put out many champs
