need something to keep the sand from sticking. Is there any oil, or anything i can buy to spray the inside?

Look, man. Very simple. Hourglasses are SEALED. So no moisture can get in or out. All you need to do is put the sand in an oven and bake it for a while to evaporate all the moisture. Heat the glass vial to dry the inside. Then place the hot sand in the hot vial, and seal it. Done. No moisture equals no sticking. Happy timewatching!

Absolutely nothing. The movement of the sand is like flowing sand paper. It would wear anything off. Oil would gum the sand up. Have fun with it!

bake the sand in your oven at 300 degrees for 1 hour per pound.That will dehydrate the sand and allow it to flow freely.After dehydration,store the dry sand in an air proof container or it will absorb moisture.

dry sand does not stick or clump. If there is moisture, it clumps. Just as is and seal tight.

they add nothing...dry silica sand will flow just about every where water will , its that fine. if its dry it will flow

You can put grains of rice. The rice will absorve any humidity that may be trapped in.
