You can file an ammended return. I don't know the proper form, but the IRS site should have it.

Don't spend the money, yet. First, confirm that the direct deposit is what you expected it to be. If you're return said you'd be getting $3000, did you get $3000 (minus any fees that you had taken out.) If it's different than what you expected, you should get a letter from the IRS in about 10 days, explaining the difference. Because W2 information is also sent to the IRS, they may have caught it and corrected it for you. If they did not, you will need to file a 1040X, which is a paper form to amend your return. If you owe, send them a check. If you get more of a refund, they'll send it to you.

If you are talking about grants received for financial aid, you do not need to report this on your tax return or pay taxes on it. It is a grant, after all.
If you are talking about a W-2 you received for working in school, then yes you will need to file an amended return.

Some school grants are taxable. If you got a W-2 for it, it probably is or you wouldn't have gotten one.
You'll need to file an amended return. Download form 1040X at irs.gov
