I think in order for a movie to really scare the crap out of you, you have to set the mood. It has to be dark quiet the pm hours and there can't be alot of people or nothings gonna be scary. When I was a kid that was the mood when we watched the exorcism, at my aunts house next door to us then when it was over and we had to go home I was scared crapless. I was so scared, also I saw that movie Emily rose and it was scary to me cause I saw it alone at around one in the morning no lights on and it was chilling, I actually had some tripped out experiences.

I know its sounds stupid i wouldnt say its the best horror but i love the nightmare on elmstreet horrors i used to sh*t myself when i was younger but now there so corney.There are so many good horrors classic`s and new so hard to say which are the best.

For me The Exorcist (1973). It created a new interest in the horror genre. And is still quite a shocker today.

I don't have a best , but if you're old enough Play Misty for Me ( i was young @ the time ) also Children of teh Damned ( those kids were frightening )and now mostly Stephen King a genious of all geniuoses ;)
