...Which one?
The original followed by many (too many) installments, or the remake?
I liked the remake and none of the others. I found the others, including the original to have very shallow acting, and I am a fan of Melissa George.
Everyone else seems to like the original better... it just didn't scare me. I don't get scared easily.

1979 Classic Is The Best of the All
Margot Kidder and James Brolin where the best as George & Kathy Lutz
Even though Tom Rivers N.J., wasnt Amityville N.Y. The House they used as the famous 112 Ocean Av. was a dead ringer for the real one in Amityville.

The 2005 remake was a very good horror movie, but it didn't have anything to do with the real story. They should have set in 2005, and called it Amityville 2005.

You mean the first one? It was ok...I liked Amityville 2 more and I REALLY hope youre talking about the original one and not the lame remake...Its a good set of movies.

original film was really scary at the time as everyone thought it was true , but looking back on it now seems a bit tame ,although the music still freaks me out. new version leaves me cold think its crap

lol no i think this was extremly scary...since i cant handle parts that make me jump, i jumped @ least 20 times in 5 minutes at one point, half the movie i was hiding under a blanket tho!yup. im a whimp lol

It took me years to dare to watch it and eventually I did (whilst p*ssed). What a crock! It's not even as scary as Scooby Do.

THE ORIGINAL IS THE BEST, WELL I WOULDNT LIVE IN THAT HOUSE THE OUTSIDE IS ALL IT WOULD TAKE TO SCARE ME AWAY,IT LOOKS EVIL.
