Eclipse engine is pathetic versus the rotary in the RX-7. If you need to replace the engine just get a new rotary. As most of those said before me, anything but a rotary in an RX-7 is sacralige.

It will fit only after the application of a very large amount of money. However, if you do it, you will be violating the spirit of the RX-7 by putting a piston engine into it.

that would be the most retarded transplant ever. you want to take a front wheel engine and put it in a rear wheel drive chassis.
