I was the highest bidder on something on ebay and I dont want the item anymore. What should i do?

There is no easy way out. By clicking the "submit" button you agreed to a purchase contract in case you win the item. Sure, you can refuse to buy it, but this will result in a bad feedback by the seller, since it did cost him e-bay fees and time to list the item.
You need to consider what is more important to you, the amount of money that you spend for an unwanted item, or your future reputation on e-bay.
If you do a lot of business on e-bay, buy the item anyways if it is not too expensive. You can always sell it there again, maybe even with a little profit. Good luck.
