I have some questions. Does it shut off in drive, on the freeway?
How many miles on the car? Is the check engine light on? Does it occur in all weather or when it is warm or cold?

First thing i do i stay off the freeway until i get it checked out. I would look at spark plugs and wires. Have they been replaced?
If it still stalls put some fuel system cleaner in it. Has the fuel filter or fuel pump been replaced? Has the Mass Air Flow Sensor been checked/replaced? If it still stalls then check out the ignition system.

as long as the check engine light is not on change the fuel filter and add a can of fuel injector clean to tank next fill up. this is most common cause.
if this does not fix the problem take to a shop and have fuel pump pressure and flow tested.

if the rpm's get to high or u go to fast, it slips the car into nuetral or sometimes will just turn it off. take it to a mechanic to have the computer looked at. could just be one of those computer chip things.
