Society in general feels a man is abdicating his manhood if he dresses in women's clothes whereas with women nowadays, it's more or less considered the "norm" to wear "guy" stuff and dress casually. Actually, it's more about comfort than anything. Any guy who wants to wear 5" heels, corsets or anything that I would find uncomfortable is okay with me. If you can put up with that kind of pain, you are more of a man than most, especially in stuff I wouldn't get caught dead in.;)

Hello,
(ANS) OK!! the way I understand this is because its a genda issue. Duur!! what does that mean?? Well as the sexes have over the last few years become more androgenous (women moving more into tradionally male areas and vica verse). The biggest changes have been the freedom for woman to brake some of the old stereo types and to dress in a more masculine way. And that's become quite acceptable in our culture.
However, the opposite cannot be said of men, (especially the more macho of men) Meaning that unless you are obviously gay, most men DONT want to explore their softer more feminine side of their personalities. Why? many reasons, a) they dont want to be perceived as guy even though they are infact hetrosexual b) Homophobia c) Macho men are not supposed to show any weakness or vulnerability, any weakness is perceived as not manly i.e. you would loose face amongst other males. d) 2000 yrs of male patriarchie goes against men cross dressing & for it too be acceptible i.e. patriarchie makes it a taboo even now.
**Actually cross dressing was practised amongst many traditional tribal cultures such as native american indians before the white man arrived.
**David Beckham is one of the VERY few high profile men in our culture who seem to be able to balance the softer side of his personality with his macho side. I think this is definately a BIG part of his amazing success & attraction.

i do no longer think of its the flow dressing that's the variety of enormous deal. that is merely that its the main obtrusive situation to do this may no longer mixing with the ideals of society. subsequently it supplies the team an unjust superb to chuckle and slander approximately it. although, lots of different issues generate the comparable form of scrutiny. Say your footwear do no longer experience, your over weight, you don't be attentive to the thank you to do something, you even say the be conscious poop or something. It creates the baby-babyish could make a huge monstrosity of something that thoroughly does not effect their life. the only clarification why human beings act this form is because of the fact they could experience good approximately how they slot in. form of like a baby that talks lots for interest. relating to Anony Mooses remark. flow dressing isn't relating to thoroughly dressing because of the fact the different gender. it could desire to be something from underclothes to a pink hat for male or lady. It relies upon on the blind outlook of the encircling human beings.

From a mechanical as well as design point of view: Women's clothing isn't made to fit men properly! See, women have many varying curves, men don't. men's clothing is made to fit men and women because the man's clothing has no curve cuttings! Of course, it takes a real man to wear a kilt in public here in the U.S.A., unless he's originally from Scotland! I have to say that I myself like kilts, they do free you up sometimes!

You are 100% right about women wearing men's clothing all the time. But a man outside in a skirt....OMG.
I wish society would lighten up and allow us men to wear what we want and where as long as it is decent.

Yeah I agree! It should be allowed either way. I have no problem with gay or even straight men wearing girl's clothes! Embrace individuality and personality, I mean: if that's what they wanna do then that's fine by me and it'd make for a pretty colourful world too!

I wouldn't think its wrong just weird if the guy I date started wearing my dresses. I like men that are masculine and this wouldn't do it for me. But I know that there are straight men that do this.

well, it used to be a huge deal for women to wear men's clothing. we have the feminist movement to thank for that change. men had no similar movement, so they are still bound by society's gender standards more strictly. they should have their own movement. it's ok to be a feminine man, dammit!

I agree, there shouldn't be a big deal made about cross dressers. Equal rights for everyone, right?
