Take 10 or 15 minute breaks every 30 minutes of studying/homework or so. This will take longer to get it done, but you'll be able to focus better by giving your mind a rest since you find this material boring.

Try to relate to the topic. If you are learning about DNA and genes, think about the different genes that you have inherited from your parents. The only way to ever do well in a class is if you force yourself to become interested.

Enjoy it. I also just fall asleep when ever I have biology. The best way to not do that is love it.
