I think it is Rock and Pop. Thats all the music i listen to, but there are some of my class mates who listen to rave and they say i should, because it is todays music and get with the style of sagging. I dont think so because i dont like rave or the sagging style. they go around in a group of saggers with their trousers down to their knees thinking its cool, but i dont think so.

Nothing about wearing your pants (or trousers) down to your knees is cool. However, if you like the music then by all means..listen to it. It isn't my type though.

I mostly stick with the older stuff....from the 20's to the 80's (some 80's..most of my music is from the 60's and 70's though). Genres range from rock, jazz, blues, to country....I also like some classical.

Rock and pop so aren't even nearly the same thing. Pop sucks and rock rules, simple as that. Rave is so old hat, that was around when I was at school and that was in the 90s. Emo and progressive rock are in at the moment and a new type of electro-metal seems to be coming up. I recommend Enter Shikari as an excellent new band.

Original rock such as Van Der Graaf Generator, Jethro Tull, Genesis, Yes, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple and of course Zeppelin. When all this music surfaced, nobody had heard anything like it. It was all so original. Add on early Alice Cooper, Aerosmith, Who, Groundhogs, Tyrannosaurus Rex, AC/DC, Rod Stewart and Roxy Music to name but a few and you have an unrivalled body of music which became copied and latterly derided. Punk may have superceded it but who listens to punk now? Nobody.

Rock! you can easily relate to it and it is such a large genre. I love most rock music but not all little subgenres say emo or metalcore. But i love hardcore and punk and classic rock. And it can change the mood easily you can listen to really fast and happy song, and then listen to the next song which is slow and heartfelt. Also rock can fuse in each genre to make it special. e.g the clash had a bit of reggae. the cure had jazz. the prodigy had dance. see Rock just rules!

Really, f*ck genres. There are all kinds of great bands through different genres and bad ones in them too. There can be good music in a certain genre that I don't like but that wouldn't mean the music itself is bad, just not my taste.

I like most music, but at the moment my choice is "Alternative". I'm particularly into Kasabian and the Kaiser Chiefs. I've just bought U2 18 Singles (listed as Alternative.) which is fantastic.
