www.bestbookbuys.com searches a bunch of new and used book sites online (half, alibris, abebooks, amazon, etc.)

If it is still in print, any bookstore can order it for you for the cover price. There usually isn't any charge for shipping.

Half.com is a great source for cheap books. Currently, you can get "Wenny Has Wings" brand new in paperback for $2.59, or like new in hardback for $4.95.

If you're just looking for a decent reading copy, you can get a decent quality paperback copy for $1.18.

Shipping is an additional $3.70 for hardbacks or $3.25 for paperbacks. (I know....that's a little high for media mail.....)

It's a long shot, but try joining the White Elephant Books Yahoo group. Members can ask for a book they're looking for, and if anyone else has a copy to give away, it's yours for just the cost of shipping.

There was a place in The New Yorker where they had like hundreds of thousands of titles both out of print or hard to get. I can't think of it without having to look at a back issue. Best bet is do a websearch same way. ' Rare or out of print books '.
