This is what I had in mine:

A change of clothes

Nightgown (I disliked the provided ones...make sure it's large because you will have to pull it up a lot for the nurses)

Socks and/or slippers

Super sized pads with wings (the hospital ones didn't work at all)

Extra pairs of underwear (just in case...)

VHS or DVD movies (my delivery room had a TV with a VCR so I watched movies during the whole thing to keep my mind occupied)

An extra bag (you'd be surprised at how much stuff you get from the hospital)

A set of baby clothes

Address/phone book (in case you want to call anyone)

Toiletries and shower supplies (in case you want to take a shower)

I would also bring something for you to do such as crosswords, books, sudoku...

Bring a few loose nightgowns, some very comfortable clothes(I just took my maternity workout clothes), a robe, slippers, toiletries(facewash, toothbrush, hairbrush, moisturizer etc.), receiving blanket, a going home outfit for baby and maybe 1 or 2 onesies for him/her and a camera. The hospital will supply diapers and most will send you home with a complementary diaper bag filled with some stuff(promotional stuff for a formula company). Also, you may want to bring your ipod or something to listen to music on. Oh, and you'll also need to either bring a car seat or arrange for someone to bring one to you after delivery-the hospital won't let you go until a nurse checks the car seat and makes sure you know how to put the baby in. Good luck!

Usually when you register at the hospital, a few weeks before you're due, they give you a list of what you need. Call your local hospital to find out. I would suggest comfortable jogging pants though.

You might want to bring you own pillow for the days after, hospital pillows are that comfortable. Bring extra pairs of socks so you'll be warm. I took My own extra comfy and i size larger night gown. Congrats.

ok a tip of advice.....make sure you bring stuff :) when I went in labour my water broke at 5 in the morning 3 weeks early, so I only had the baby's bag packed not mine, plus when my water broke it was all blood (due to my placenta seperating to early)....the day after having the baby my boyfriend brought my bag in (for the first day I had to wear a gown, and some uncomfortable underwear they told me to wear, and my son was in NICU and didn't wear anything but a diaper) my sandals were all full of blood so he threw them out, along with my clothes i went there in....he forgot my keys, my mother in-law picked me up, i had to wear p.j's home cause thats all he brought me and socks (he forgot my shoes luckily i didn't rain) i didn't pack shampoo but i did pack soap (used my sons baby shampoo)......so my next one my bag will be packed :) Good Luck :)

the hospital will usually supply diapers and bottles while you are in there, just bring some clothes for the baby, some baby blankets, maybe some wash cloths. stuff like that. bring some clothes for yourself also.
