is this true if yes how do you do it my sons bank charges him 30 pounds for missed direct debit would he get those back as well

Hi hun... Yes you can claim back your bank charges, look on gm.tv and click personal finance there are two templates of letters which you can send to your bank. Make sure you include a list of dates and amounts charged to your son. They will almost certainly refund this immediately as they would not want a solicitor involved (which it states in the template letter would be your next cause of action.) You can claim , but not all the bank charges. the bank is allowed to make REASONABLE charges to peoples accounts. For example if your son has been charged £30 for a missed Direct debit, the Ombudsman says that the actual cost to the bank for this is £4. 50. Therefore, your son is entitled to anything over that amount being refunded to him. Click on to www.which.co.uk for more information. Good luck.
