I agree with you.At my Dad's funeral one of my Dad's friends wife couldn't be there as she was sick,so he decided to take photo's for her to see.my Mam,my brothers, sisters and I were in disbelief when we saw him talking the photo's,he really should have asked if it was o.k.,but none of us had the energy to say any thing, and none of us wanted to make a scene.A couple of months later my Mam rang me crying, she said that my dad's Friend had sent some photo's that he thought that she might like to see.She thought that he had sent photo's of his children, his wife and himself, only to find that they were photo's of my Dad lying in his coffin. After I got of the phone to my Mam,I rang one of my sisters who lives close to my Mam and asked her to call over to our Mam's and dispose of the photo's.The thought that there are still photo's of my Dad lying in his coffin makes me feel a sick sick to the stomach still.

Disrespectful. Especially when the coffin is open and pictures are taken of the deceased. It is much better for camera's and pictures to be banned. Have some respect for the dead. You wouldn't like it if i took pictures of you at your funeral and put it all over the internet in an album called: 'greatest events', which includes my wedding pictures, huh?
Have a nice day!

Interesting question. In my life, I've been to over three dozen funerals, yet I never saw anyone ever pull out a camera and take pictures. I've seen funeral pictures on televison, for example when someone famous dies. Nevertheless never seen picture taken anywhere else. If someone wanted to take my picture in my casket, needless to say, I wouldn't care less. Most important, however, is the family members. Nothing should ever be done to upset them, unless it's by another family member.

Well, as tacky and kind of spooky as it is, in some cases, funerals are the only times some families get together. So, if you haven't seen uncle what's his name or cousin dumby, you may want to take there picture. But taking pictures of the deceased is just a little to spooky for my liking.

Personally I find it in poor taste. My husbands mother passed away not that long ago at age 57 due to cancer. We took care of her for the better part of the a year and nobody came around but treated the funeral like some kind of a reunion and wanted my husband and his two brothers to pose with their wives for pictures since its been so long since they've seen us! I was fuming....It was upsetting on too many levels.....

I agree with you. Surely you should want to remember people the way they were not - dead as a dodo. I can't see why anyone would want to take pic's at a funeral - too weird

This always burns me up! On three occasions, I've been going through someones photo album, turned the page only to see dear ol' Aunt Millie in her casket.
I think it is inappropriate, but for some reason, many people like this have these pictures.

The opinion of the deceased doesn't amount to much. As for taking pictures, most people don't look like themselves at the funeral, but that's what floats your boats, click away.

In my family we don't ever take pictures of the dead. Seems kinda freaky too me. I want to remember then as they were.

No need to bring one for me, just stay home and take a picture of an ash tray, we will look the same by then.
