AIDS, some Dinosaurs where flamers

It wasn't a sudden event that wiped out the dinosaurs. It was more a gradual downfall.

During the Cretaceous, a rather large meteor hit Earth's surface near Yucatan Mexico (this event actually marks the end of the period). This set off a chain of events, summarized with the following: a huge dust cloud was thrown into the atmosphere which blocked the sun's light and warmth, which in turn slowed down photosynthesis and caused plants to start dying off (food source for many "veggie-saurs"), which was the start of the breakdown of the food chain. Also, the global temperature dropped with the dust cloud. This was an environmental change the dinosaurs couldn't adapt to. All the ensuing events of the meteor hitting lead to the demise of the dinosaurs (and many other less noted species).

A huge asteroid hit (now the Yucatan) which caused huge fires, earthquakes, tsuanamis around the world eventually leading to the death of the dinosaurs.

Remember, one small thing can cause a huge natural disaster elsewhere (like the butterfly effect). Think of what that asteroid did. Crazy thinking there's so many asteroids in space and us as sitting targets.

There is evidence that a meteor or asteroid hit in the now Gulf of Mexico and that resulted in an ice age. The cold killed off the reptilians and allowed mammals to get control. Mammals did well because they could generate their own heat internally. Reptiles needed the environment hot to stay alive.

Huge asteroid (or meteor or whatever they call a big rock falling to Earth) slammed into the Earth. this sent so much dust and debris into the air that there was hardly any sunlight for years. Then the dinosaurs slowly died.

K-T event theories include asteroids and dustclouds contrinuting to climactic cooling and subsequent extinction of the dinosaurs.

Who knows. I'm surprised no one has said yet that there were no dinosaurs. A lot of people like to say that for some reason.

It is still a mystery, but most scientists believe that it was caused by an impact event such as an asteroid collision or multiple collisions.
