That was not a question. That was supposed to be a question, I look , I see a question, I see an explanation, but the explanation leads me to believe you don't want an answer but an audience. For shame!!!!

What I don't like about cultural snobs is that they believe only they can see the messages and meanings in the art form and us mere mortals don't have the intelligence or imagination to do so. Some of them are laughable. I will never forget the episode of Faking It (Channel 4) where a plumber from Liverpool trained in four weeks to be an "artist" with the help of mentors. When it was time for the test, all three judges did not guess that he was the imposter - the look on their faces was priceless. In other episodes where the judges were fooled they laughed about it but not the artists - they just couldn't accept that they have been fooled. Class!

I'm a cultural snob when it comes to books, I couldn't cope with the Di Vinci Code because of the awful prose (I can talk, I'm dyslexic, but at least I've got an excuse) and yet I do like watching Doctor Who or any of those programs where they make fat people suffer!! I'm also rather partial to a cheesy horror film, so maybe i'm not such a snob after all!!

Isn't this question and others you have posted, just a put down or an attempt to proselytize the activities of today's Avaunt Guard Producers and Directors?
Yes - I am a cultural snob and I detest what is happening.

I am a cultural snob. I think its good to have high standards and try to live up to them. Why should I pretend I like football, mediocre chart music etc when I don't. On the other hand, I don't think liking opera makes you a snob, it all really depends on your attitude.

Are you using this question just to sound pretentious or do you really have a question?
