$300 dollars that sounds like a deal. My folks bought a new Kirby from those door to door salesman I think they paid something ridiculous like $1200 plus the salesman was so nice that he took their 3 fully functional vacuums in as a trade-in, and one of those machines was a 1985 Kirby so my poor parents probably ended up paying over $2000 for a vacuum what a bunch of thieves. I still can't get over it

Don't waste your money. My mother and grandmother both have owned expensive Kirby's. My $39.99 Bissell from Walmart is lighter, easier to manuver, and sucks up more stuff without clogging than their expensive machines. Both of their machines go through 1 or 2 engine belts a year. My Bisell hasn't had to be serviced since I bought it 5 years ago.
My mother finanlly sold hers on Ebay and bought a Bisell like mine, she says it does a better job than the Kirby ever did.

Compare to the Ebay prices. All Kirbys are built like tanks and they weigh more than an 8 pound Oreck.

Yes most defiantly. I bought the same one for $300.00 over three years ago & it works GREAT!!!! I love mine. I do have one complaint. The attachments are a pain in the butt to attach. You have to disassemble the whole head of the vacuum. I just use a hand held for those types of jobs so I dont have to mess with the attachmants. But the answer to your question is YES, it is a good price.

You are so lucky. Kirby's are worth every penny. I paid top dollar for mine and am not disappointed. You got a deal!! You can leave it to your children for an inheritance!
