It has been the oil companies plan all along to screw everyone. Gasoline comes out of the ground without lead. It was put in it to help lube the working parts of your engine so when they (people in general) started gripping about the pollutants in the air, the first thing was to start making unleaded gas which all they did was to not put the lead in the gas.

The oil companies are out to screw you and drink every penny they can get out of you. If at all possible, don't give in to the POS oil companies. They are all thieves!

Where I live I know it is the high tax rates put on gas, no doubt about it. That and rip the consumer off, they know we need the fuel. In summer or peak travel times it always goes up again, what it suddenly got more expensive???? Nah.
They will always have a reason to gouge us at the pumps.

I believe the unledded stuff has the impurities removed, which makes it easier on the cars parts...therefore it is more expensive.
