I mean how important is for you that your significant other is smarter or less intelligent than you?

I'm attracted to intelligent people. However, I am *NOT* attracted to intelligent people who feel the need to belittle others and flaunt their intelligence. There are ways to use intelligence and ways to abuse intelligence.
I don't really consider whether my significant other is more or less intelligent than myself. As long as 2 people are happy together and communicate well, that's all that matters. I think it's good to have someone who can challenge you intellectually, but someone doesn't necessarily have to be *smarter* than you to make you think in different ways.

I am attracted to intelligence and/or people smarter than me. Intelligence is actually really important to me in a relationship. It's one of the first things I look for. However, I realize that there are many different "types" of intelligence, and I have always found it rewarding to be with someone who has a different kind of intelligence than I do. For example, I am really "booksmart" and my boyfriend has more of a creative intelligence. In terms of the degree of intelligence, I enjoy being matched with my partner. In short, I like learning about other ways of seeing and interpreting the world from people different than me!

Smarter is always attractive to me - Intelligence is far more important to me than looks are, and I'm never afraid of someone smarter than me, if anything I'm drawn to it - before any other quality.

A guy has to be more intelligent than me. I will have to say that i am my self but i am attracted to men more intelligent then me. But i always end up being attracted to guys who aren't and guys who whine like little babies and i have to explain a lot of things. They try to argue and i win the arguement because of my intelligence.. I think i am afraid of people less intelligent than me. But it doesn't matter. If they are not that then i just have to move on. It's all about the personality, huh? =)

many intelligent people can still be naive,
i am attracted to the ones who have a sense
of life as a whole in nature ~ intelligence is
an ascending gradient of illumination toward
life, intelligence is a sense of what is around
in life and how you perceive it in reference to
yourself ~

It's important that he is NOT less intelligent than me. That's a turn-off.

i don't care if he is smarter than me or not. there are still things i will know to teach him and him me. either one i'm attracted too. but if he ends up being dummer than a loaf of bread then i would be a little afraid.

A truley intellegent person will never let you know they are more intellegent then you. My wife makes me think I'm smarter but I know better. Or do I?
