I'm looking for either nursery rhymes, rhyming books, or just stories. My daughter has plenty of books on animals, animal sounds, ABC's, counting, words, etc. Can anyone just name some fun books that don't neccessarily have to do with learning? Title and Author would be awesome, thanks!

Goodnight Moon was one of my favorites as a little girl.
ISBN: 0694003611 (board book)

(update: I found one that comes with a bunny! ISBN: 0060760273)

Where the Wild Things Are was one of my favorites but I don't know if they have it as a board book or not, don't see why not though.

Same goes for these titles, don't know if there are board books but they're cute anyway:
Just Go to Bed by Mercer Mayer
If You Give a Mouse a Cookie
Runaway Bunny
Dr. Seuss's Sleep Book
The Giving Tree
The Velveteen Rabbit (mine came with a velvety bunny which I adored)
The Pokey Little Puppy (from the golden books series, most of which are just great) ISBN: 0307021343
Wump World by Bill Peet was really cute
Very Hungry Caterpillar
Rainbow Fish
Harold and the Purple Crayon
Corduroy
Clifford
Berenstein Bears
The Little Prince
Amelia Bedelia
Curious George (ISBN: 0618164413)
The Borrowers
Thumbelina
Jack & the Beanstalk
Princess & the Pea
Babar
Frederick (about a cute little mouse)
Charlotte's Web
Color Kittens (another Golden Book)
Are You My Mother by P.D. Eastman
Ugly Duckling
Puff the Magic Dragon
Neverending Story
Love You Forever by Robert N. Munsch
Polar Express
Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs
Little Red Hen (Goldenbooks) ISBN: 0307960307
Strega Nona
Stone Soup
Roxaboxen
Just a Dream... ISBN: 0395533082
Rikki Tikki Tavi
Paddington Bear
Winnie The Pooh
James & the Giant Peach
The Princess Bride
The BFG
Jumanji

Reading Rainbow used to come up with great picks all the time.

Authors names to check out: I loved all the Mercer Mayer books and Dr. Seuss, Leo Lionni, Richard Scarry, Eric Carle, Beatrix Potter, Robert N. Munsch, Roald Dahl, Tomie de Paola, Steven Kellog.

I have to say my favorite I recommend is a big book full of classic fairy tales and colorful illustrations, it's probably out of print (circa 1979) but it's called "Stories for Bedtime" and the ISBN is 086112393x it was a big blue hardcover book and I think it was "by Brimax" (publisher?).
I still have it and I always loved it. There's a tiny little dragon, faeries and wizards on the cover. The first line of the book says "It was breakfast time and the Master wanted butter for his bread."

It'll prabably be hard to find, but so worth it if you do. In case you don't here are a few that would probably be great also:
HarperCollins Treasury...ISBN: 0060080949
Richard Scarry's Bedtime Stories... ISBN: 0394882695
Complete Adventures of Curious George... ISBN: 0618164413
Complete Hans Christian Anderson... ISBN: 0517229242
Aesop's Fables... ISBN: 0448060035
Stinky Cheese Man... ISBN: 067084487X (stinky cheese man rules!)
Disney's Story Collection ISBN: 0786832347
from Goldenbooks.. ISBN: 0375831274
Classic... ISBN: 086713089X
I have to get this Roald Dahl treasury myself ISBN: 0670877697

There are also a few 5-min bedtime story collections out there like the one we used to read to my kid sister for when you want to read something short. ;)

Go to www.bn.com (barnes & noble) and you can look up books by age group and see all the books listed for that age group. A lot in there I've never heard of but they looked cute. You can also do a search by ISBN, title or whatever on bn.com. *~sigh~* I love Barnes & Noble! =) And when you're on their site you can read reviews from other parents saying what they thought and how their kids liked the stories. It's all about the bn.com <3
