now that is strange to have had a period throughout your pregnancy. You were probably spotting heavily. If your OB/GYN was not worried, then don't, you are 1 week away from being considered full term. Your mucus plug has come out it will appear more viscous(slimy looking ) tinged with blood. You will need to be checked by your OB to see if your cervix has started to dilate

It could be a number of things, first off i would be concerned about placenta previa, Alot of women have this and most of the time its not detected until the third trimester, and when bleeding starts. Its when the placenta is somewhat close to or over the cervix. Most of the time they dont catch this on your 20 week ultrasound, and dont know its present until like i said you go in with bleeding. You will know if its your mucus plug, and i dont think it was, You wouldnt still be bleeding lightly. It would happen and stop just like that. I think you need to google "placenta previa"
Goodluck and make sure you ask your dr to check this out!

i had light bleeding around the last few weeks every time i had intercourse. it would only last a few hours and the doctor said it was fine. i never went into labor, even with the bleeding going on, i had to be induced at 41 weeks.

usually bleeding signals the onset of labour in some women. If you don't want to see a doc this weekend, lay down and stay of your feet, but if contractions starting, in the beginning they might feel like period cramps, go to the hospital.

obviously the decrease of the hormonal chemical has thined your lining in the endometrium, thus the inplant had detached and expeled out in one of those mentruations you have had, if the bleeding continues will be until all the left tissue has exited out of your uterus across the cervix pass the vagina and out.

I would call the doctor and let them know they will probably want you to come in and get checked but you really do need to call them because this could be a sign of preterm labor
