Go with AP. You can get college credit for it if you do well on the test and even if you don't, colleges like to see you challenging yourself. A B in AP History is going to look better than an A in a regular history class.

I'd definately recommend going AP. It may be a bit more work, but you will get a lot more out of it in terms of education and potential college credit. I'm a freshman in college and I can't over-emphasize how helpful AP credits reallly can be. Of course, make sure not to stress yourself out over it. If you feel the AP will be too much of a burden, there's no point in taking it just for the credits. Good luck!

I'd go for AP... it's not as bad as you think, and it's not a lot of homework (not for my AP classes anyway). The hardest part of it is cramming all the information... you'll get a LOT of information in a short amount of time. As my AP english teacher says... it's not about doing the work, it's about having the skills to do the work. If you have good time management and study skills, I'd go with the AP.

what's the course? biology? language? also, what school district are you from?

Those are big determining features to your decision

if you think social studies currently isnt very hard, definitely go for AP. I find personally those kinds of AP aren't as hard as say math ones.

If you've got an A in social studies, it shouldn't be too tough. I'd say go for it.

If you're fine in both, I'd go with AP. Getting it out of the way now could save you a TON of money by the time you go to college.

If you can do it, you dhould take an AP class. If you take the test and get college credit, you get it out of the way and won't have to take it in college. And it probably looks even better to College than honors.

A dvanced Placement would be the better choice. With enough credits you would be able to skip a term of history when you to college.
