She should ask her doctor, or a planned parenthood doctor, because low-dose birth control pills may help or may make things worse.
High discharge (clear and odorless) often happens at ovulation or after conception. It's natural and normal, but not all the time, only for a week or so per month, or the first month of pregnancy as the mucus cap forms over the cervix.
If it is clumpy or smelly, or not white/clear, she should consider that it may be an infection, and get help immediately.

Could you repost your question with a description of the discharge? The color, smell, and consistency are all very important:
Clear, odorless, watery discharge is fine. You may just be retaining water.
Cloudy, yellowish, smelly, or bloody discharge is serious and should be brought to a doctor's attention.

it means they need to go to a gynocologysit. you should make an opointment as soon as possible. if the teen is sexually active it could be a range of things. could be a yeast infection, a urinary track infection, or a sexually transmitted disease. go get checked.
