Look at the Transport for London website:
http://www.tfl.gov.uk/tfl/

It will tell you all the info you need to know in the fares section -Though you will likely need to buy an Oyster card as soon as you get here (its a card you use for cheaper fares!) they can be bought at train stations and some newsagents!

Public transport in London is expensive. You should register for an OysterCard which is a pre paid ticket. The best place to search for fares is Transport for London on www.tfl.gov.uk.

Hey Sebastian, I live in north London and travel into central London to work so I get a pre paid oyster card which is now one hundred and twenty eight pounds a month. I can use this on buses and tubes and trains throughout London.

Check out this website

London's tube has to be one of the best transports systems that I have ever used. Italian transport was just terrible when I was there so you are going to love the "The Tube".

If you have an oyster card (which is what you should maybe do to make it cheaper) it will be around £100
if you go to the site above it will tell you how much it will cost.

the main homepage for the website is www.tfl.gov.uk
