I got my last depo shot in June. In december I got a normal period, but 10 days later I got another one. I didn't get my next until January 25th, and it lasted for 11 days! We really want to conceive. Has this happened to anybody else? I just want to know if these are real periods (am I ovulating) or is this just strange bleeding??

Well i was on the depo shot for three years and once i stopped taking it my period came the next month and i was pregnant 11 months later.
I didn't have no problems with my periods after stopping the shot.

Depo-Provera is not a good choice if you want to be pregnant in the next year or two. Why? Because it typically takes 9 to 10 months to become pregnant after you stop taking Depo-Provera as a contraceptive. It could even take up to 24 months after discontinuing use of Depo-Provera for you to become pregnant. The length of time you use Depo-Provera has no effect on how long it takes you to become pregnant.

I am a fan of Depo myself and it is recommended that you wait up to 1 year before trying to conceive. It takes a while for your body to get back on track. You need to be having regular periods before getting pregnant. I just got my Depo shot Wednesday and my doc. confirmed the above mentioned advise. Sorry & good luck.

It can take some time! When tryin to get off of depo, it will jump like that back n fourth, until you decied weather to stop taking the shot all together, then you may have probs w/ your cycle tryin to go back to normal, but it may take you to go on the pill after,to help re cycle everything back to normal, then when you get back on track, wait at lease a few months are so, then try.allthis could take up to a year, due to the body has to re adjust. Depo could cause you to have strange periods, until it completely out of the system, and that can take up to a year! good luck, if i can help further you can reach me at latinaes4life@yahoo.com
