Ok, so when you go to a restauraunt and you order something (or if you call in your order for pick-up) for take-out. Do you tip? And if so, do you tip the whole standard 15%?

I usually do if I have some extra money. But not 15%. I usually leave a dollar or so.

This seems to be a popular question, so I'll give my "two cents" again. Yes, it's polite to tip, but by no means is 15% necessary.

The common complaint about tipping here is that the take-out person did not wait on me. I disagree. The take-out person is more than likely responsible for taking and ringing in your order; boxing, packaging and bagging your food; and providing all your sauces, condiments, napkins, silverware, etc. The take-out person is probably making minimum wage or slightly more. And if the take-out person has several to-go orders at once, they are working just as hard as a busy server would be.

So what would be a good tip? A couple dollars or around 5% of your bill would be sufficient. Check your order for accuracy. If the take-out person was excellent, tip a little more. If the take-out person didn't do so great, don't leave a tip.

I will tip if they got the order right. If I have to wait for them to remake something that they wrote down incorrectly, no. Usually I tip a couple dollars unless I am ordering massive amounts of food. I worked at a restaurant as a hostess and it was nice to get a couple dollars here and there for taking care of the take-outs.

No tip is necessary. Some establishments have a "tip jar" where you can put a dollar or two in it but it is not required.

You are basically tipping your server at a restaurant for bringing you your food, keeping your drinks full, seeing if you need anything else.

If they take the food out to your car (like curbside take-out) it might be a good idea to leave a tip since they are bringing it out to you, especially if they are quick, friendly, and get your order right. As for how much to tip them, a couple of bucks should be okay.

For take-out, there's no tipping required. For dining in, give 'em whatever you feel the waiter/waitress deserves. For example, if your waitress is friendly and gives you great service, give her a good tip... if she sucks, giver her a low tip. REALLY BAD service deserves no tip at all.

I don't tip for take-out. Unless it's a massive order that I know inconvenienced the restaurant, then I tip a couple bucks as a thanks.

Tipping is not necessary for take out as no one is serving you.
